NEW BRIGHTON CLUB.

The first ra in connection with the newly-formed Swimming Club at New Biighton -were held on Saturday. There were very few entries for the various events, and the weather being cold there were not many spectators. The following are results :— soyds Boys' Race— Tims 1, Knight 2. Won easily. 50yds Handicap — W. Barker 1, Harris and Henry (dead heat) 2. A good race. 100 yds (post entries) — W. Harris 1, Symes 2. Won by a yard.' Quarter-mile Race— A. Rides 1, W* Barker 2. Won easily. lOOjda Handicap—Patrick 1, Henry 2. :

The first race of a series of three "was swum in the Southbrook bath on Tnuisday evening. There were eight competitors, and the race was won by O. Harper. M. Moir was second and C. Jones third.
