Sib,— Having been asked by several of my constituent?, who are shopkeepers, how they are affected by the Shops and Shop Assistants Act in tbe matter of closing their premises, I have appealed to the Minister of Labour, and he haß courteously replied by wire as follows :— "Shopa outside cities, boronghß, and town districts are not closed, but Aot provides that assistants shall get their holiday, and ib will, be the duty of factory inspector, to see that they get it.— W.
