There are still ninety-two miners ' entombed in the G-iglake Colliery at Audley, and there is now but small I prospect of their escape. LONDON, Jan. 16. The .rescue p_.rty i_J aban- < doning hope. FATAL GUNPOWDER EXPLOSION. Washington, Jan. 16. A gujopowder case on the railway line at Butte, in Montana, exploded with fearful results. The city received three distinct shocks. - the sensation being similar to a very sharp shock of earthquake. Joseph Edge, a married man with a large family,' was killed near Whangarei by a tree falling on him; rlt was two hours before he was extricated. He had a thigh broken and other injuries, from ; which he succumbed. j The lad Walker, who broke one of his ; legs by falling oyer the cliff at Godley Heads, on Nov. 9, and who haß since been under treatment at the casual ward; at Lyttelton, had the misfortune to twist the limb on Sunday night. The lad had bo far recovered that he was able to get , abont, and in walking about the house he I slipped, and fractured the newly-set limb. •
