A trial shipment of hay, walnuts, and wine lias reaobed here direct from Valparaiso.

The area under English barley is greatly in excess of last yoar'a area, and the estimated yield is 975,000 bushelo, the average being 15 bt&heTa'to the acre. In regard to feed barley, nearly the whole of which ia of the Cape variety, ifc is anticipated the yield will .amount to a quarter of a million bushels, or an average of 24 buehels to the acre.
MELBOURNE, Jan. 12.
The Leader, ia reviewing the oat and hay crops, says the oat crop ia a fairly good one in most' districts, end really fine oifrpffhave baen harvested in portions of the northern diatriots. The oat crop ia estimated at 6,000,000 bushels or 25 busbela to the acre. The hay yield will be-about 625,000 tons, or 1J tons par acre. Complaint?, however, are mad« o£ tho dirty character generally of the cropa this year, which will prejudice the market value of
