Pmbbleton.— A meeting of the vestry <ol All Saints' Church, Prebbleton, was held on Thursday evening, for the purpose of settling up accounts in connection with the gift auction held last week. It waa found that after paying expenses there would be a profit of more than £40. Votes of thanks were passed to all who had assisted at the auction. Municipal.— Lflßt evening Mr W. J. Brooker, who ia a candidate for the office of mayor of Sfc Albans, addressed a meeting of ratepayers in the Knightstown Library. .There was a fair attendance, and Mr B. Bull.occupied the chair. Mr Brooker spoke at length on questions affecting the welfare of the borongb, and at tne close of his address was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
