fPEii Press Association.] DUNEDIN, Oct. 17. j ; Constable Duggan died suddenly yeater- ; day while on duty ia the Lowburn district. The supposed cause of death was apoplexy. He waa a single man and joined the force I in 1882. ! In view of the canvassing going on, the Executive Committee of the Post and Telegraph Society to-day passed a motion asking the officers of tbe department not to pledge votes to candidates for the Board of Appeal until the names of all probable candidates are known.
