The weather waa fine for tbe opening day of the Australian Jookey Club's Spring Meeting, bat there was a strong, cold wind blowing. There waß a large attendance, including the Governors of New South Waleß and Victoria and their respective suites. The performance of King Orry in the Trial Stakes was a really good one, and should make him a dangerous horse in the Caulfield Cap. The race resolved itself into a match between Isaac and King Orry, and the latter did not appear to exert himself towards the finish. The starting machine vras used at Eindwick for the first time in the start for the A.J.C. Derby, and worked successfully.
