There were ten candidates for the three vacant seatß em the Linwood Borough Council, bufc the poll, which took plaoe at the Council .Office, did not create much excitement;. Out of 1071 burgesses on the roll, 303 voted. MeE R..Smith acted as returning-officer, and the poll resulted in the return of Mesßrs H. Pearce, J; 0. Atkinson and John Taylor.
