Mr J. M. Douglass occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance. The annual report of tbe committee stated that the average attendance had inoreas3d from 482 to 525, che number now on the roll being 598. Regarding tho overcrowded state of the school the Committee deplored the fact that the Board of Education had not yet seen its way to provide increased accommodation . The balance-sheet showed receipts £1401 18s lid, inclusive of the incidental fund. There was a credit balance of £21 16s 3d on the incidental fund. The expenditure on that account had amounted to £141 183 2d. The reports were adopted. The following were elected a committee for the year: — Messrs J. Anderson, J. M. Douglass, J. Cleworth, R. 8. M'Diarmid, J. Richardson, Charles Bailey, Charles Edkins, M. Gimblett and T. Manifold. It was unanimously resolved to request the Board of Education to put in hand at once the erection of an infants' school. It was decided that steps should be taken to raise a fund towards providing a swimming bath. A vote of thanks was passed to the teaching staff, to which the head - master,. iMr Binnie, responded. The committee [ elected. Mr Douglass chairman for the | ensuing year, and Mr Cleworth secretary.
