ST ALBANS.

There was a large attendance, including a number of ladies, and Mr F. Waymoulh was voted to the chair. The report of the committee dealt generally with the worjk of the school during the year, which was of a very satisfactory character in spite of several difficulties in the way of sickness, &c- ,Many improvements had been made in the Echool buildings, and on the whole the success of tho schools had been very marked. The report of the inspector referring to the excellent position of fha side school was warmly applauded. A petition waa read from a number of householders having children attending tho aide school protesting against any alteration in the control of that Bchool. A long discaaaion ensued, in the course of which there appeared tq ; bo a strong foaling against any alteration being mada in the present system, and on the (nation boiu % put to the vote it. was on the

voices -to expunge that portion of the report' retiring to the matter. The report as altered was then adopted; Nominations for committee were then received, and the election resulted as follows :— Messrs 3. A'Covrt 90, Broofear 76, Palmar 75, Waia 64, S/'mpson 56, Norris 53, M'Cleave d£, Morgan 46, Swindell 45, Capper 44", 'Owen 44, Jones 42; Rout 35, Wharton 27', Parrotfc 26, Williams? 22. The first nine wete declared duly elected. Votes of thanka to the retiring committee, teachers, scrutineers aad chairman tsrminate'd the proceedings.
