WAIMAKARIRI-ASHLEY WATER SUPPLY.

Meeting at Oxford. Mr Dobsob,, chairman of the Wainwk-ariri-Ashley Water Supply Board, addressed a meeting of • .the ratepayers of the Oxford riding of the district on, Saturday last. There was a large representative attend-, ance. Bf r Peter Wright was voted to the chair. - Mr Dobaon explained that lie had called the ratepayers together in order to. be enabled to .correct; many misstatements that had been made with reference to. the scheme. He referred to the Act, arid the difficulties encountered in dealing with its provisions, but, nevertheless,' thQ Board had worked undef difficulties, and it was some satisfaction to have been complimented' upon the successful manner ' in which the work in connection with, the loan poll and other important mattere'that had to be undertaken werecarried out. After the clpse of, the address, Mr J. T^eld proposed, and Mr H. Campbell seconded, a vote o£ thanks to Mr Dobson for his address.
