Excitement in Lyttelton.

Information from Ficton as to the results o? the Chompionship Regatta was eagerly Bought after in Ljttelton on Monday night, j and when a telegram waa received stating j that the Championship races bad to be postponed on account of the lumpy water, the large crowd which bad assembled in ' front of the Telegraph Office awaiting the ' newa dispersed in disappointment. The : tidings tbat the Lytteltoii crew had bean • again successful wore received uhortly after nine .o'clock this moraing, and spread ; like wild fire over the town. Naturally the club officials and tuembera were highly ; jubilant over the victory of: their crew and the wires flashed back many congratulatory messages.
