Wilding. : Mesara Collins, Labatt, Lawrence, Palmer and Pearce are unable to play in the match. Au enjoyable matoh was played at Lancaster Park yesterday between fifteen from the Union and Linwood Football Clubs and an eleven of Lancaster Park, which resulted in a victory for the former by 71 run 3. Scores :— Footballers 179 (Orchard 48, M'Farlane 30, Walsh . 15, Alexander 16, Douglas 14, Beck 11); Lancastar Park 108 (Johnston 21, Willis 14, Board 13, Cooke 12, Bates 11). The niorfc successful bowlers for the combined team were M' Far lano and Douglas ; and for Lancaster Parke . Gunthorpe, Johnoton and Bates. Afternoon tea was dispensed by Misses Museeu and Orchard, and greatly appreciated by players and spectators. A mixed team of the Midland Club journeyed to Weedons yesterday, and played a twelve chosen from Weedone, Springston aud West Melton. The game, a very enjoyable one, waa won by the Midlanders by seven runs. The scoreß were •.—■Combined team 80 and 26, Midland \ 29 and 84. Barneß 9 and 21, Washer 2 and 22 and Garrard 5 and 13 ecored beet for the Midland Cricket Club. Ellis 16 and 0 and Macdonald 12 and 2 batted well for the losers. Barnes took four wickets for 2 runs and . five for 4, and Eobertson captured five for 13 for the Midland; ani M'llraith with eight for 17 aud Pearson with six for 21 Eecured the best averages for the couutry men. The wicket was a matting one, and the town team was very hospitably received. A return match was played at New Brighton yesterday between Victoria House and the Nevr Brighton Club, in which the latter wan victorious by on-, innings and 63 runs. Victoria House, first innings 32 and 33; New Brighton, first innings 124. For the former Strange mado 11. For New Brighton the principal scorers were J. Preece, junr., 17, Gidley 29, Williams 24, Heffcon 15, Hooker 10 and Cookson 13. The bowling of Sefton and Gidley waa very effective. A match will be played to-day between New Brighton and Sumner at Mr Monck's ground, Sumner. A match was played on the Christ's College ground on Thursday between teams of the Vetaraus' Club. The game resulted ia a win for Mr Atkinson's Bide by 19 rune. Eefreshments were provided by Mr Willmer, the Captain of the Club.
