Handicapper and Starter— Mr J. C. | Cresswell. ' The annual race "meeting of the Amuri j Turf Club took place at Culverden on j Thursday. The weather waa perfect, but the attendance was almost entirely confined to residents in the northern districts, witha small contingent' from Riccarton, very few passengers going by the excursion train from Chrißtchurch or joining it south of Bangiora. The racing was uninteresting, although there was a good finish in nearly every race. . Speculation j was very quiet, only £481 being passed j through the totalisator.
