Eiccarton Training Motes.

Saturday, j Zn spite of the fact that we are almost I on the eve of an important race meeting, J training operations at Eiccarton are not very interesting. The number oE local j horses in work just now is small, and only j two or three visitors have aa yet put in an appearance. This morning rain commenced to fall at about five o'clock, and continued steadily until ten o'clock. Consequently fewer horses than usual were out before breakfast, and their work was of a restricted nature. Cutts was the first to commence, and sent Lakeshell twice round at a strong pace. Lakeshell ia looking well and moved in taking style. Eetina and Awarua Rose galloped once round steadily, and Watchword and Teredina were associated in a brush over sis furlongs, but neither youngster was fully extended, and Golden Fleece by herself accomplished similar exercise. Eulnine was restricted to Blow work, but Norton and Cajolery galloped a mile fast, finishing together. Philson had Wedlock as a companion over six furlongs at three-quarter pace, and Eoseguard galloped five furlongs at top on the sand. Miss Madge strode over six furlongs at a useful pace, and Au Eevoir, who, although light, is apparently in excellent health, covered two rounds on the Band at a good striding pace. Beadonwell, in clothing, accomplished half-pace work over a mile and a half, and Strath Braan and Barmby brushed over four furlongs at top. This is the first gallop of a faat nature that Strath Braan has been treated to for some time. Ha moved very freely, but appeared distressed on pulling: up. Inez and Lord of Misrule wore associated in a gallop over a mile at top, and Ben Godfrey performed easy work, while Ultimatum, Britomarte, Clarence, Ivanhoe, Token, Vogengang, Sb Louis, and a number of others worked after breakfast.
