Since ihe close of last Bales, washed and scoured merino, super, medium and inferior, and greasy merino lambs, medium and inferior, are M per lb lower. Coarse greasy j cross-bred haa advanced |d per lb j since the close of last sales. Other S descriptions are unchanged. The total quantity sold during the series is 172,000 balsa, of which 109,000 bales have been taken for the Continent and 1000 for America. It is i estimated that 75,000 bales have been held over for future disposal. I Meat. — Stocks are light. Canterj bury mutton ia worth 5d per lb, j TVellington 4|d. The lamb market Jis firm. Prime New Zealand lambs j are worth per carcase 6fd per lb. j Hemp. — The market is depressed, | medium is worth £16 per ton. Tallow.— There is little demand. Fine mutton tallow ia worth 27s 3d per cwt ; good beef tallow is worth 25s per cwt.
