ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
An accident of a rather serious natura occurred at Lyttelton yesterday afternoon' at No. 7 wharf. Captain H. M'Lellan and Mr James White were engaged tallying cargo from, the New Zealand Shipping Company's R.M.S.S. Ruabine, and, as a slight shelter from the dirty weather, they were sitting between a couple of railway trucks, which were a few feet apart. A shunting engine came along the lines for the purpose of moving the trucks, and aa the two men were hidden from tha view of those in charge of the engine, the engine " bumped" the trucks together. The result was that White bad his collar-bone broken in two pla_e_ on the right side, and also sustained one or two Bevere bruises; while Captain M'Lellan was more fortunate, and escaped with a few bruises and a Bevere shaking, (Tbe Burgeon of the ship attended to the suffer, is until they were conveyed to their respective homes.
