Boating Accident.
What was, well-nigh proving a fatal accident happened at Summer this morning through the capsizing of a boat, it appears that four young men who, with others, have been' camping at Sumner during the holidays, went for a' sail in a boat, and when off the Shag Bock, the boat, which was very badly managed, capsized, precipitating the ladß into the water, Two of them,' Alfred Allen and James Hague, clung to the boat, while Arthur and Percy Phipps attempted to swim- ashore. They succeeded in reaching Percy Phipps just as he was going down for the last time, and after picking up his brother took the others off the boat, which was sinking fast. On being got ashore Percy Phipps waß found to-,be quite unconscious, and a messenger was despatched for Dr Hunt, who, fortunately, was attending an inqueßt in the borough.
