The Key P. R. Monro and the Conservative Selection
The Beys P. R Monro and L. M. Isitfc addressed * large meeting in the Theatre Royal last evening. Mr Monro'a address referred chiefly to* the candidates for the Christchurch seats. In the course of it he said he was never more surprised in hie life than when he found, yesterday morning, that a paper which a short time ago could not find terms abusive enough for Mr Eden: George, had now suddenly turned ronnd, and was holding him up as a fit and proper representative of the wisdom and culture (otherwise the moderate electors) of Christchurch. "Above all men, Mr Eden George, whose soul wa3 " so small that it might revolve for a millenium in a nutshell, and never touoh the Bides." Mr Isitt'a address was mainly a criticism of the Government Licensing ? Bill. Mr Isitfc will speak in the Theatre Royal again thiß evening^
