Mr Valentine, the recently appointed dairy expert for New Zealand, has gone to Chicago, where he believes a market can be found for a large quantity of butter. Mr Valentine expects that Denmark will improve the quality of her butter, fearing Australian rivalry. He thinks that a large market can be found at Hamburg for frozen meat. SYDNEY, Oct. 11. The New Zealand Land Association, Limited, has received the following cable message, dated LONDON, Oct. 10. Wheat. — Stocks are heavy, and the market depressed. Spot quotations are unchanged; c.i.f. spot quotations have declined 6d per 4801bs since last report.
