OHRISTCHTJBCH. Tms Day. l (Before E. Weatenra, J. Forrester, and B. Hill Fisher, Eaqs.) Drunkenness.— A man who had not been before the Court for a year, was fined 5s and costs. Alleged Bttbglaby. — William George Kidd and Thomas Downes were charged with haying, on or about Sept. 30, broken into Voice and Peate's carriage works, and stolen one lock-saw value 4s, a cheque book value Bd, and a chisel value Is. Inspector Broham asked for, and was granted, a remand till Monday, Oct. 16, to enable the police to make investigations. Alleged Fobgeby and TJttebing. — William George Kidd waß further charged with having forged the name of N. Jowett to a cheque for £4, 18s on the National Bank of New* Zealand ; and Thomas Downes was charged with having uttered the same to Henry Samuel Triggs on Oct. 6. On the application of Inspector Broham, this case was remanded till Monday, Oct. 16. ; (Before B. Beetham, Esq., 8.M., and B. Westenra, Esq.) Civil Casks.— Judgment by default with costs was give for plaintiffs in the cases of H. B. Hamlin v. W. Thomson, claim .£3 14s 6d; and T. A. Joynt v. J. Dwan, sen., £2.
