School Committees.
♦ — The monthly meeting of the Tai Tapu School Committee was held on Monday; present — Major SdmundEon (Chairman), Messrs Herrick, Leathern, Limbrick, Miller and Walker. Correspondence with the Board of Education with regard to Miss Guise's resignation was laid before the meeting, which approved of the action of the Chairman. The Chairman reported that the examination had taken place, and that the inspector had complimented both teachers and scholars on the result. A letter from Miss Barlow, complaining of interference on the part o£ a householder with school discipline, was read. It was agreed that the Chairman Bhould point out the eteps that should be taken in such a case, and that he should forward a copy of Clause 96 of the Education Act to the person concerned. A letter from the Board regard- ! ing the appointment of a temporary teacher, was read. The Chairman's action in the matter was approved. It was agreed that one hour should be allowed to the children aa a recess for dinner. Accounts were passed for payment and the meeting terminated.
