[Peb p-piss AsßociATiotf.j AtrCKLAND, Au^st 5. This morning a big landajip oooprred at Birkenhead, near Auckland, by which five hundred tons of earth were moved about fonr hundred feet to seaward. Tbe ander stratum forced its way underneath the surface and upheaved the road and path some twelve feet. Wheeled traffio is blooked. It is estimated that it will oost .6500 to repair the damage. The land ia still slipping, and if the rain continues, another serious fall muijt take place.
