A very good indication this of the slight hold whioh Conservatism has on thej mass o£ the electors of Auokland, and *' very good omen for the next general, eleotion. It is to be hoped that when thatl event ooours the Liberals of Auokland will have cloied up the breach made over the oonteat just deoided, and will again present to the Conservative enemy a united front.
