[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Junk 14. Fearing that the discharge of sewage in Cook Strait in connection with the drainage scheme «niay have an injurious effect on the cable (iwhere it lands in Lyall Bay), Dr Lemon, Superintendent of the Telegraph Department, has induced the Government to draft a Bill, which it proposes to ask Parliament to pass, now and tor ever prohibiting the corporation of the cityof Wellington from discharging sewage into Cook Strait to the eastward of Island Bay, notwithstanding any provision in the Wellington Sanitation Loan Act or other Act. His Excellency the Governor, Admiral Bowden Smith, aud the officers and men of H.M.S. Orlando, along with the local Volunteers, will attend a church parade on Sunday.
