Executive Committee.

A meeting of the Queensland Belief Executive Committee was held this morning in the City Council Chambers, and waa well attended. The Mayor and >Mr Mitchell reported that the receipts amounted to £200. It was stated that the special canvassing committee would meet in- Mr Mearea' office on Friday morning at 10.30, to arrange particulars for conducting a systematic canvass of the i city. A donation of £50 was received from Mrs Tancred, and was acknowledged with many thanks. The question of holding a " Queensland Saturday" was discussed, but it was reßolved — "That such a demonstration be held in Lancaster Park on/ Thursday, March 9," and a Committee, consisting of the Mayors of Chrißtchurch, St Albans, and Linwood, Messrs Douglass and Hart, waß appointed to arrange for carrying out the demonstration. The Sub-Committee was requested to invite the co-operation of the Friendly Societies, and to secure the attendance of the schoolchildren. Mr Mearea reported that the employees of' Messrs Moor and Sona had promised to give half a day's pay each to the relief fund. The offer of Messrs G. E. Harb and E. W. Seager to deliver a lecture on "Old Canterbury," illustrated with limelight yiews from negatives taken by the late Dr Barker, was accepted with thanks, and the Mayor undertook to make arrangements for a hall, and to get tickets printed. Mr Hart reported that the proceeds from Mr Worthington's lecture on the previous evening amounted to over £80.
