The positions of the leaders are las follow :— E. Treleaven 11 points, A. Manning 10, H. Field 9, J. Sowden 8, J. ! A. Lewin, 7, C. H. Wagstaff 6, and J. Sowden 5. The match with the Christobnroh Eifle Club has been postponed. Thb Accident at Lake Fobstth.— Mr Abraham Bowley, who met with the accident at Lake Foray th last night, has, so fax as can be judged at. present, got over the critical stag*), and is likely to recover with j no more than the loss of one foot above ■ the ankle. He passed a very bad night, 1 bat every attention was paid to him, and Ihe is decidedly better to-day. It is to 1 Mr W. M. Miller's attention and knowledge of the arterial system that he owes his life, as at the time he was picked 1 up from behind the engine wheels, which j (had passed over his legs, there was no one | who understood how to staunch the wound in the leg. Mr Miller tied a handkerchief round the leg, and with a pointed boulder so pressed the wound as to stop the flow, and thus .saved his life. A knowledge dS . ambulance work proved very useful.

Supbbme Coubt.— His Honor Mr Justice Dennißton sat in Chambers this morning and disposed of the list of cases. Picnic.— The Committee met last night and made final, arrangements for the annual picnic in connection with Mesßrs M. O'Brien and Co.'s Boot Factory, which takes place at Diamond Harbour. Tahtjna Fbte.— Another of the series of fetes held by the Kingsley Club at Tahuna will take place to-night. Numerous attractions are announced, and Professor Bickerton will give a short lecture on the science and construction of electric torpedoes. A Caution.— The £1 coupons, one of which is said to be enclosed in every one hundredth bottle of Wolfe's Schnapps, have attracted the attention of some clever members of the community. The firm has recently effected a system of advertising on a linen cloth placed within the cases, on which is printed a fac simile of the draft for the coupon. One of these was recently cut out from the cloth advertisement, and offered to a tradesman for cash, the person passing it alleging that it was the genuine coupon, but that he waa not going to town, and therefore could not get it cashed. It is stated that several of these have been passed to country storekeepers recently, so persons had better be cautious how they accept such documents in future, as they are valueless except for the purposes of advertising^ •
