• [Special to Panes Association/] LONDON, Feb. 16. City financiers approve the proposed Victorian loan of one million sterling, bat fear that the Government will be unable to place it locally. The American visible supply of wheat is 116,000,000 bushels. At the wool sales there is a strong demand for lambs wool and best combings. There have been farther withdrawals of Colonial bought wools. Capetown pears are being retailed in London at three shillings and sixpence each. MELBOURNE, Feb. 17. The Chamber of Commerce carried a resolution in favour of the commercial union of the Colonies. Mr Service suggested the desirability of consulting the Trades Hall, which had an immense power of voters to bring about commercial union. HOBABT, Feb. 17. There is a deoided improvement in commercial affairs, and the hardest presents every prospect of being a very fair yield.
