Cooking Lecture. — Miss Ada Wardrop again had a very large audience in the Tuatn street halt last night, wben she leotured on "Cakes and Pastry." Miss Wardrop said that it was quite impossible to make puff-paste in the extreme heat there had been all day, and as she had no cool-cellar, she was unable to demonstrate puff-paste, but she gave a recipe for rough puff. During the evening Mies Wardrop make some little chocolate cakes, Genoese pastry, peach tart, anchovy allumettea and ' plain scones, all of which had a moat pleasant appearance wben cooked. At the conclusion of the lecture the various cakes and tarts were handed round for inspection, and when Mr Bishop invited the audience to taste, the good things disappeared with a rapidity which was marvellous. After the lecture, Miss Wardrop announced that she was forming classes, and that as some cooks' who wished to attend could not get away in the af ternoons, she waß quite willing to give the same lesson in the evenings if she could form a class sufficiently large. MiBS Wardrop lectures again to-night, the subject being " Soups.'
