THEATRE ROYAL.
The performance at the Theatre Royal, to-night, for the benefit of Misses Alice and Constance Deorwyn, will be tinder the patronages and in the presence, of members of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association and the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club. The victorious team, which returned yesterday from Wellington, will be publicly welcomed and congratulated, 1 and the championship banner will be displayed on the stage. The Company will j produce, on this occasion only, the late T. W. Eobertson's charming comedy Caste, which will be favourably remembered by all playgoera aB one of the brightest comedies of its class. It. has not been staged •in Chris tchurch for over eight years, and consequently Bhould be much appreciated. The Holloway Company recently played Caste in Wellington with great euecess. Miss ■ Constance Deorwyn will appear as Esther Eccles, and Miss Alice as Folly Ecclee, in both of which characters they have made a name for themselves in Australia. The box plan office is at Messrs Milner and Thompson's.
