THE BABY FARMING CASES.
SYDNEY, Nov. 28. The jury in the alleged baby farming cases at Macdonald town returned a verdict of manslaughter against Mr and Mrs. Makin. A pathetic scene occurred in Court during the day. Mrs Makin, after exhorting her children not to cry, and imploring God for justice, fell prostrate on the floor. The inquest on the bodies found at Redfern, opens on Wednesday. These are the cases in which it ia believed the children were murdered by puncturing their hearts. TREASURY BILLS. The Treasury Bills referred to in the English cables were sent to London some time before the Funded Stock Bill was introduced. - THE HAWTHORN MYSTERY. MELBOURNE, Nov. 28. The police are of opinion" i that the' Hawthorn mystery is something more than a practical joke. Medical men are of opinion that the legs were cut off while the body was warm.
