Cricket. — At a meeting of journeymen bakers, held on Saturday night at the Oxford Hotel, a Cricket Club was formed, Mr J. Williß being elected Captain, Mr W. Pratt Vice-President, Mr A. Rattray Secretary and Mr J. Neave Treasurer. A Committee, comprising Messrß Pegsr, Farrar, Woodcock, Flanagan and Mallock, waa appointed. It was decided to' meet at Hagley Park next Thursday afternoon.— An enjoyable game was played on Saturday between the Kimberley and Weedon Clubs, on the ground of the latter, and resulted in a victory for the home team by eight wickets and 1 run. The scoreß were: Kimberley, 25 and 45; Weedona, 38 and 33 for two wicketa. The highest scorers were : For Kimberley, J. Beaman 9 and 10, J. Bedford 9; Weedonß, J. Currajrh 10 and 14 not out, and D. Jones 11. M'Beth and Stott bowled well for Kimberley, as did Thompson, Davidson and Curragh for Weedona.— The return match West Melton v. Springston was played' on the ground of the latter on Saturday, and ended in a draw. Heavy showers of rain during tht afternoon necessitated repeated adjournments, but otherwise the game wasa verj enjoyable one. Springston went in first and, after scoring 106, their skipper de dared the inningß closed (Hunt 44 not out Marshall 39 and Macdonald 10). Weal Melton made 76 for the loes df f our wicketi when time was called (G. Wilson 28 no ont and M'Hwraifch 21). Pearson an< Macdonald bowled well for Springston, a did G. and W. Wilson for West Meltm.
