This Day, (Before M 3 Worship the Mayor of Christchurch.) Drunkenness.— Annie M'Quaid was fined 10s and 2s cab hire, in default fortymsjhthours'imprisonment. — MaryMoxham, who wa* too unwell to appear, was remancied for another week. Alleged Larceny.— Mary Gilbert, Ada Gilbert and Margaret Maloney, alias Griffiths, were charged with stealing an overcoat and two books, all of the value of £4 2a, the property of Thomas Mitchell. Ad the accused pleaded " Not guilty." Inspector Pender said the prosecutor was not, present to press the charge, and there was a doubt aa to whether the accused took the coat or books. Tho man Mitchell had informed the police that he had been robbed, but could not say definitely who robbed him. The Bench dismissed all the accused. (Before E. Beetbam, Esq., It.M.) Civil Casks.— Judgment by default waa givtm for plaintiffs iv the following cases : —A. Ayers v. P. H. M. Walker, claim .£1 5s ; G. Dale v. E. Borland, £& 10s 6d ; Mr Lane for plaintiff.— The case Tradeß Auxiliary Company (Limited) v. T. M'Elray, in which Mr Flesher appeared for plainriffs, was adjourned until July 25. — Peter Groabimski v. W. Mulholland, claim 12s lid. Mr Creawell appeared for defendant. The plaintiff claimed for the balance due for digging two hundred and sixty-two bags of potatoes. The defence w»8 that defendant had paid plaintiff the full amount, and judgment was given for defendant.
