Centbai. Daiby Factoey.— A meeting of the Provisional Directors of the proposed central dairy factory was held in the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Eooms on Saturday afternoon. There was a full attendance, and the Eev J. O'Bryen Hoare presided. The Chairman said that the Committee appointed to select a suitable person to act as Secretary had decided on Mr F. N. Meadows, who would enter on his duties at once. Arrangements had been made for holding meetings at Marshlands on Monday night, and at Leeston on Friday night. Mr Murphy stated that he bad communicated with the Agricultural Department, asking tbat Mr Sav/ers might bo cent to Canterbury to assist in promoting the establishment of creameries iv the country districts.
