CRICKET.

A mixed team of the Lancaster Park Club journeyed to Eangiora on Saturday afternoon, and gave the Ashley County team an afternoon's leather-hunting. The wicket WBB slightly treacherous, but the Park team were in good batting form, and rraated a record for Esngiora by putting bjictliar 21u runs. F. Labatfc, c. liidley *nd J. Jackman butted well, scoring 41, 30 and o'i respectively, L>ibatt being not out. A. Kidley 17, D. Hawkinß 17, M. North 13 and M. Steed 11 were the other double figure ecorets. For the County Garty took three wickets, Sail and Chapman two each, and Blnndon, Wilßon and Good one each. The Northerners batted for half an hour, scoring 3d for four ■wicketa— Chapman 15, Clayton 8 not out. Johnßton clean bowled the four batameu at the small coßt of 12 runs. The United Club played a ecratch game at Hagley Park on Saturday, aides being choaen by Mesers Aldred and 14. D. Harman. The game was won by E. D. Harman'a side, who made 102 to their opponents' 62. A very enjoyable game was played at St Albans on Saturday, when an eleven of the local Club defeated a team of O'Brien's boot operatives. Thß latter were the first to bat, and scored 80. Sfc Albans scored 113. The Oxford team visited Amberley on Saturday to play the return match. The Amberley won on the first innings by 21. xuna.
