• [Special to Press Association. I ZANZIBAR, Jan. 15. An explosion occurred upon the African Lake Company's steamer Domira, on Lake Nyassa, resulting in eleven persons being killed and eleven injured, chiefly Europeans and Sikhs. The African Company's steamer Domira, which met with an accident on Lake Nyassa during a storm, was driven ashore. Subsequently she floated off and returned to Port Johnston. HONGKONG, Jan. 14. Fifty of those on board the steamer Nanchow, which sank in the China Sea, were rescued.
On Thursday, an inqueat was held at Newlands, near Amberley, the residence of Mr Robert Parsons, on the body of George M'Rae Parsons, aged one year and ten months. Captain Preece, E.M., was the Coroner, and Mr Maurice O'Connell was elected Foreman of the Jury. After viewing the body and hearing the evidence of the father and Dr Morris, a verdict of "Accidental Death," presumably caused by a kick from a horse, or by being trodden on by a horse, was returned.
