Mails close for the following places, aa under, subject to th» necessary alterations i — Thursday, Jan. 14. For Northern Ports, per Takapuna, at 4.20 p.m. ; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m. ; guard's van, 5.30 p.m. train. Friday, Jan. 15. For Northern Ports and Greymouth, per Herald, at 12.30 p.m.; late fee letters, 12.45 p.m. ; guard's van, 1.25 p.m. train. Saturday, Jan. lt>. For Northern Ports, per Penguin at 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m. ; guard's van, 9.5 p.m. train. Wednesday, Jan. 27. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe and America and West Indies (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, &c, &a, and also for Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Takapuna, as follows :— Ordinary letters, at 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; books and newspapers, 7.30 p.m.; registered letters, s p.m.; money orders, 4 p.m. ; guard's van, 9.5 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on March 2.
