The Indian Government has decided to remit the balance of the sentence of those convicts who displayed heroism at the wreck of the steamer Enterprise, which sank in Port Blair Harbour, Bay of Bengal, during a cyclone. TWO HtTNDKED MEN *- ENTOMBED. NEW YORK, Jan. 9. A colliery explosion haa taken place at Krebs, and two hundred miners have been entombed. A TOWN DESTROYED. OTTAWA, Jan. 9. The town of Lachnte, the chier town of Argenteuil County, Quebec, has been destroyed, and it is feared that many lives have been lost. NEW YORK, Jan. 10. In the colliery explosion at Kreba seventy persons were killed. One hundred of those entombed have been rescued alive. Others are known to be living, and the work of rescue is proceeding.
