« [Special to the " Stib."J LITTLE EIVEE, Oct. 16. The Eangiora Friendly Societies' excursion to-day is a pronounced success. The train consisted of thirty-three carriages drawn by two engines ; and the passengers numbered about fifteen hundred, twelve hundred being from Rangiora and the remainder from Southbrook, Kaiapoi and Addington. Little Eiver waa reached at a quarter to eleven without mishap, and the excursionists quickly spread over tha hillBidea. The weather being beautifully fine the outing could not but be enjoyed by everyone. ____^__ - __ — ___„
