FATAL LAMP EXPLOSION.
Unfortunately, lamp explosions are becoming rather frequent t and worse still, it is not always property which suffers. Not many months since we were horrified by the particulars of the death of the South Australian Minister of Lands, caused by the bursting of a railwaylamp, the burning oil from which ignited his clothing. A later victim Jb Lord Bomilly, who lost his life at the Egerton Gardens fire. Tho London Times, in reporting the matter, says : " Lord Bomilly accidentally upset the lam^, and was rendered insensible by the fumes of the burning oil." The Daily News, on the other hand, simply points to the accident as illustrating "the danger of using petroleum lamps." The danger, of course, cannot bo entirely eradicated, but it can be minimised by using Luxene, the "safe light." Common low test kerosone gives no soourity. Uoe Luxene, which is freer from smoke and smell, givoß a softer, purer light, and burns less quickly.
