Young Men's Christian Association. —Last night Mr J. H. Todd, President of the Napier Young Men's Christian Association, met the members of the Christchurch branch in their rooms, and delivered a very interesting and instructive address to them on the advantages to be derived from following the principles advocated by the parent Society. The addreas was listened to with cloße attention by the members who expressed their appreciation of it by according Mr Todd a cordial vote of thanks at the close. Sy»enham Wesleyan Chtjech. —■ The fortnightly meeting of the Mutual Improvement Class waa held on Monday evening in the Church. The Rev J. N. Buttle presided, and about twenty-five members were present. The evening was devoted to "Elocution." Eeadinge were gfiven by Messrs Green and Hooking, and recitations by Mißßes L. M'Guinness and Budd, Meaars J. M'Guinnees, Marks, W E_all and J. L. Scott. Criticism followed In each case. One new member was ilected.
