New Brighton Loan.

[from oub special correspondent.] WELLINGTON, June 11. Yesterday a deputation from the Avon >• Eoad Board, consisting of Messrs Wood, Paterson, and the Clerk, attended to urge ), on the Ministers to grant the loan of £4000 already sanctioned by the ratepayers, but held over because its purpose is not satisfactorily defined. It was asked for origi- ,_ nally for building a sea wall at New _ Brighton beach, but the true purpose c being now explained, viz;, to form a roadr way and a training wall, Ministers ex|f pressed the opinion that the difficulty c could be got over, and promised to enj. endeavour to get the loan of the money. r_ Their final answer will be given on Monday. The deputation, which was very courteously received, was introduced by Mr E. M. j Taylor, of Sydenham.
