Sir Eeginald Hanson, who was Iford Mayor of London in 1886, has been elected to fill the vacancy for the City of London in the Houge of Commons, caused by the death of Sir Robert A. Fowler. Mr Edward g, W, de Cobain, M.P. -for the. Eastern division of Belfast, 'against whom serious criminal charges were preferred, aud who absconded from the country, has declined to return to England, to meet the charges. Mr de Cobain was, early in May last, identified at Bilboa, in Spain, where he was conducting religious services.
