Ashibt Eoad Boabo.— The ordinary meeting of the AaMey Eoad Board was held on Wednesday, May 6; preaent — Mesers Millton, Shaw and Stewart. Mr Millton was voted to the chair.— lt was decided to engage Mr Donald Brock to inspect and report on the concrete bridge on the Chapel road, near Mr E. Philpott'a entrance gate.— lt was also resolved — "That the sidings into the Karetu on the main road be improved ; that Can's road be repaired where necessary, and that the bridge over the Bullock creek be repaired." — Accounts amounting to £18. 4s were passed for payment. The first public school for the blind established in England was at Liverpoo n 1791 ; in London in 1799. C. H. Manhikq has made bo advance in the prioe of Wb greatly-admtred and Buperiorly^xeonted photographlo work. The same moderate charges are made for bin excellent, appreciated pictures this teib aa i n the past. Sittings by appointment advisable tc avoid detention owing to pressure ©t business.
