THE MISSING MAN.

[PlB PBIBH ASSOCIATION.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Apbil 7. A strong party, under Messrs Curtis and Penn, returned from searching for the missing man Sonthwood, whose gun, leggings, and spniß were found on a ridge gome 500ft higher than bis horse and coat. The find plainly indicates the man's intention of ascending the peak. No further traces could be found higher. The gorge on both sides of the ridge was carefully examined to the snow line 5 but above that point the arotio severity of the weather prevented anything being done. Further search is regarded as hopeless, whilst the present cold southerly weather continues. m^ mm^ mmmmmm^^^
