Pig iron is falling, owing to the collapse of the railway strike. It is expected that the terms of settlement will be disputed by the Scotch furnace-men. A proclamation issued by the Shearers' Union in the Central district states that it has been nnanimoualy resolved that any member of the Paatoralists' Union not accepting the shearers' agreement before the end of March will have to pay an additional sixpence per hundred for shearing, the wagea probable under the Labourers' Union being increased pro ratd,
