Linwood Town Board.
An ordinary meeting of this Board wqb ' held on Monday at 7.30 p.m. Present— CommiEsi oners Bergh (Chairman), At--1 kinson, Pentecost, Alexander, W. Smith j. and Dombrain. An apology was received for the aboence of Commissioner Hardie. " Correspondence waß read from the Drainage Board, authorising the closing of the 1888 rate account. The Works Committee's report, dealing viith the ' Hereford street channel, was adopted. The Lighting Committee reported re proposed lamp at the corner of Buccleugh street and Park road, that, as the Heathcote Eoad Board cannot contribute towards the cost, the lamp be not erected. . The report was adopted. The Finance t Committee reported receipts since last ' meeting, .£286 17s Id ; credit caßh. I balance, .£159 19s 7d. The report was ' adopted. Resolved—" That the dog registry fee for 1891 be ten shillings, , • except dogs kept for the sole purpose of I the management of live stock, the fee for \ which be 7s Gel." The Board then sat as I the local Board of Health. The Inspector's I report was approved, and the meeting j terminated.
