The Hunter River miners are unable to render any financial assistance to the miners in New Zealand, as they have to support a thousand of their own members. [Pee Prsss Association.] BRUNNERTON, Jan. 19. The Brunnerton Miners* Association met I to-day to receive the report of the delegates who went to Mokau to inspect the coal measures there. The report was favourable, and members of the Association proceed to Mokau to work a coal mine on the cooperative system. DUNEDIN, Jan. 19. The Shag Point coal mine is now being worked under non -Union rules, most of the miners having accepted the proprietors' terms. The President of the local Union resigned, and the Secretary wa9 dismissed.
