INVERCARGILL, Jan. 20.
While at the Snares, the Lighthouse Commissioners made a careful examination, selected a site for the lighthouse, and erected a flagstaff. They also took the sea bearings to determine on the extent of the arc of illumination. The stone on the island consists of hard granite, too hard to be cut, but it will be used as rabble in cement in the construction.
