WELLINGTON, Jan. 14,

At the Magistrate's Court, Daniel Jobberna, late of Palmerston North, was charged with obtaining goods to the value of -£500 from Me3sra Arthur and Co., of Glasgow, by alleged false pretences. He was remanded till Friday.

The Mayor and City Councillors, Archbishop Eedwood, and the various Consuls paid a visit to the French flagship this morning. The meeting of the Cabinet is adjourned, as the Premiar goes on a visit to the Hutt.
